To continue the “training through competition” mission, Chairman Chen Ho‑Huang of the Chinese Advanced Driving Association will lead the i Taiwan Rally Team to Thailand for the 29th FIA Asia Cross Country Rally.
A pre‑race flag presentation was held on July 17, where Director‑General Hsiao Huan‑Chang of the National Fire Agency officially presented the flag and wished the team a triumphant return.
He emphasized that improving rescue vehicle and driver skills is a top priority, hoping for greater government‑private collaboration to advance capabilities, broaden international vision, and foster exchange through motorsport challenges.

The car’s livery features “I Taiwan” alongside the phoenix emblem of the fire service, symbolizing the shared values and mission of the team and Taiwan’s rescue and disaster‑response firefighters.
The Chinese Advanced Driving Association and the “Big Apple Little Sun” foundation jointly donated multifunctional rescue off‑road vehicles to Nantou County’s Yushan Squad and Taichung City Fire Bureau, and also appeared at the press conference.
These vehicles, tested through the demanding environment of an international rally, help firefighters gain hands‑on experience, fulfilling the mission of safe driving in disaster relief while raising Taiwan’s international visibility and fostering global exchanges—two key goals of this participation.

The Asia Cross Country Rally, certified by the FIA, is the largest and longest‑running international cross‑country rally in Asia. Held every August across the Indochina Peninsula, its route spans Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, and China, challenging competitors’ all‑around skills on ever‑changing terrain.

This time, the i Taiwan Rally Team will compete with Taiwan’s own Luxgen n7 electric vehicle, entering the newly added Class T1e pure‑electric category.
Supported by HHTech with key components, the car is equipped with racing seats, a roll cage, and upgraded electrical systems.
The powertrain retains its original rear‑axle single‑motor layout, but—per safety rules—the main battery was relocated from beneath the cabin to the rear section.
The chassis has been fitted with reinforced, lifted suspension to handle off‑road terrain, aiming to deliver an impressive performance on the international stage.
